Passenger Side Rear Trailing Arm Question
Long time Mazda 3 owner/reader of the forum. Thank you to everyone here for your years of priceless knowledge.
I know there are many threads on this topic, as I have read them all. However, I'm having trouble finding a specific piece of information. Long story short
Bushings are bad on rear passenger side 2008 Mazda 3s Grand Touring, 130,000 miles. Bushing replacement estimate is $600, or $515 from another mechanic I know. Now, I can purchase the entire trailing arm, bushings and all, for $237. This leads me to the question:
Can anyone tell me how involved the trailing arm replacement process is? About how long will it take to remove/insert a new trailing arm? Does the entire wheel/brake system assembly have to come apart? I've seen conflicting information about that out on Google.
Hoping to gauge value of mechanic replacement vs. my time and money...
Thank you again everyone
