Koni yellow: MZ3 vs MS3 valving

Okay so my buddy contacted koni about their yellow adjustable shocks, hoping to get info about how the shocks differ from the Mazda 3 to the Speed 3. The initial response was a bit basic, meaning they didn't include info about all three settings, but I figured it would be useful information. Not sure if it's posted anywhere already but here you go. I'll repost a reply if I find out more about the other settings, we assume this may be full soft.

Note: my initial impression is that below, model 1487 and 1490 are mz3 and ms3 fronts respectively, and 1350 and 1354 and mz3 abs ms3 rears respectively.

Just got an email back from koni. This is what they sent.

Brady,

Thank you for contacting us here at KONI NA. Both the front struts and rear shocks are dimensional the exact same. The difference in is the rebound damping of the dampers, as the MS3 units are more aggressive.

Tested at .33m/sec (13 in/sec)

8741 1487Sport

Compression – 500N Rebound – 950N

8741 1490Sport

Compression – 500N Rebound – 1280N

8040 1350 Sport

Compression – 300N Rebound – 1120N

8040 1354 Sport

Compression – 300N Rebound – 1250N

... but the valving is adjustable is it not? Which means, just buy whatever is cheaper, no (unless you plan on running full hard or soft I guess)

I would assume they tested them at the same setting.
