Allie, it shouldn't be too difficult, but the how to videos I have seen made it look easier with two sets of hands. There are plenty of user reviews online and how to's. Enjoy
edit - Oh derp... okay, I see what confused me earlier. Those stupid links at the top were for a complete replacement + other junk. Nevermind!
I was confused because it was the only place I saw a year, but was only skimming [very very fast skimming I will add]
I did the EXACT same thing about two weeks ago, so out of curiosity I contacted them. Dude linked me to that, which I already had up on another tab so I too had a durr moment lol.
Computer live chats on websites that have it available are life savers. We all know how annoying it is to call and get someone you can barely understand.
I got one of the cheap Ebay ones and I don't like it.
Seems like it didn't change anything about the shifting other than tilting the shifter slightly in towards the driver. The solid bushings have a better feel to them though, definitely swap those out.
That's the Mazdaspeed version, well.. what you got of course was a ripoff.
Some are adjustable in height though that I've seen, it wasn't originally that much shorter though, but it is a bent shape indeed to bring it tighter to the drivers' leg.
A friend had one and I drove his car once.
Other than the fact his 2nd gear was blown out making the experience as bad as possible in a 2.0L, I ... yeah I didn't like it either.
Had a TWM on my old 6. Absolutely loved it and had zero issues with it with the cable bracket installed. Really wish I could get one for the new 3. Sigh... Memories...
