For anyone would lives in like PA NY jersey anyplace where rust is a issue, have any of you tried removing your subframe and had the bolts strip out or anything like that, I would like a header possibly but I'm afraid of my subframe
You shouldn't have to touch your front subframe at all when replacing the exhaust manifold.
What I will say you should be worried about is buying a new o2 sensor, since it may not come out and will have to just put a new one on when reinstalling.
I've had to remove a few subframes on other cars and the only time I have broken a bolt was on a late 90's Mercury Cougar. Even then once I welded a nut onto the broken bolt it came right out.
Heat goes a long way in removing o2 sensors. Get the bung red hot and they usually come right out.
I'm not worried about replacing the o2 sensor, yes it's expensive, but I'm worried about rust underneath. when I try to take out the bolts that the threads will be rusty n strip out, when I did my cs exhuast I had my mid chassis bolts strip out, I know those are a lot smaller, sorry took so long that message would show up n not go away about, the protection problem smfh
Yal are making me very confident

But how? I've been turning a wrench in NY all my life and I've never had threads strip out because of rust. The threads that hold the subframe to the body of a car are basically full sized nuts welded into the unibody. They won't strip unless you do some really stupid like overtighten them with an impact gun.

Okay That's What I Needed To hear, I Didn't Know What Was Holding THEM , I Had My Mid CHASSIS Brace Strip N NUSE N For IDK What REASO It Just A Concern What If I Wanna Do FSb OR IDK Don't U Have To Remove It To DROP the trans
But yeah, just cut the old one out. The new header will be in two pieces and will install a lot easier than the huge catted single piece OEM unit.
