Why does it feel like I get better or "as good" acceleration at part throttle than I do at wot? Almost feels like it bogs, and if not, definitely feels like it flatlines until I get the surge above 5k (2.5 swap feature it seems).
2.5 swap you say? My theory is it's due to the OEM fuel maps being for a 2.3. in closed loop the ecu uses the o2 to adjust fuel trim to compensate. At wot, the ecu should be in open loop - fuel calculations are no longer being trimmed by the o2. If someone would log a wideband we could see it happening.

I get this sometimes as well but not often enough that I've given it much thought. Mine seems to happen most frequent at low RPM. Sometimes I can stomp the gas at 2500 rpm in 2nd and it just takes off and flys through the revs but every now and then it just falls flat until 4k or so. I know that a tune would help these swaps a lot but no one has done it yet. We've all just been content to drive them on the 2.3 maps. One guy on here bought a tune but is still only using base maps.
On my 2.3 the difference between 1/2 and full throttle on my 2.3 is almost indistinguishable.
