I saw TONS of Mazda 3's last time I was up in Canada, so yeah... obviously they can't be that bad in the snow.
I got through last winter on the stock Goodyear RSA's. They sucked, but even with the suckiest of sucky tires I got through the winter just fine. So if you have winter tires I'll bet you'll be just fine!

Yep, as long as you have winter tires the Mazda3 is fine in moderate snow, 20-25 cm. I drive up and over Blue Mountain going to-from work and had no problems last winter, even on days when I was on the road before the plows.
