Lame Question - Can you fit a bike in the back of a Mazda 3?

New guy here, considering a Mazdaspeed 3 when it comes out. I'd like to be able to throw a couple adult mountain bikes in the back if possible (folding the seats is not problem).

Anyone done it? It would be nice to get a quick small car over a CUV.

Thanks Guys.

I haven't tried it, but I think if you take off the front wheel, I think you can make it happen. You'll need to fold the seats down though.

I fit a mountain bike in my sedan with the front wheel off no problem. If my sedan can do it, a hatch sure as shit could as well.

Bring a bike with you to the dealership and tell a salesman you'd like to "test fit" a hatch!

yeah, and scuff the interior while your testing the fit, then ask for a discount on the damaged car!

My father took his Orca with him to the dealership when he was looking for a new car. It fit, so he bought the car. lol.

Seriously, I've gone to a dealer with a friend to test fit audio equiptment. As long as you pad everything and aren't trying to force anything, the dealer shouldn't have a problem. Especially if you tell them you won't buy a 3 unless *such and such* fits in it...

Re: Lame Question - Can you fit a bike in the back of a Mazda 3?

Well, right now I drive a Maxima and I can fit on mountain bike in the back seat, but I do have to remove the front wheel and getting it in and out on leather seats is a bit tricky and sooner or later something might catch and rip.

Me and the wife do quite a bit of biking, and right now, hooking up a trunk mount bike rack everytime is a pain and not that secure (can't go anywhere and leave them on the car). It also tends to scratch the car.

If I could load two of them up in a hatch, that would be awesome. Pass the Maxima onto the wife and drive the MS3.

It's his latest toy. The bike itself is amazing. It's much lighter than any other mainstream bike out now.
