SRI mods

So I'm looking into SRIs for my 3 and I'm not seeing a lot of options when it comes to heat shields. I live in California so options are already severely limited, but of the options out there, does anyone know of any heat shields that are more or less "universal"? Probably not but thought I'd ask.

I was also wondering if anyone has tried to modify the stock air box to allow a SRI to fit inside. This is mainly because I had an integra and there was an "ice box" intake that was basically an SRI inside a modified version of the air filter housing to lessen heat soak. I thought about widening the air tube hole in the stock air box and removing the resonator and tubing from the bottom of the air box and replace it with some pvc tubing that ends in a velocity stack and position that where a CAI filter would sit.

What kind of effect would have on the SRI? Will it be a hindrance? Will I end up creating something that could make me a millionaire in a few years? I have no idea so I thought I'd ask!

The intake on your car is pretty well designed; I wouldn't expect any noticeable difference from modding the intake, errr, except maybe for some more noise. Will it make you a millionaire? Nope, not a chance.

I understand that I will be getting no extra power, but having my existing power shifted down a little lower would be nice in my dd.

This is mostly so see if modding the stock box to house an SRI will have NO negative effects on it. Plus, I like the idea of a louder, "performance" intake with a stock look.
