Poor Gas Mileage on 2007 Mazda 3

In the past year or so, I've noticed my gas mileage start to decline. Here's my car info:

2007 Mazda 3 i Touring 2.0
60,000 miles
--------------------------------------
I consistently get 23-25 mpg. Over the course of a week, I drive about 80% highway, 20% highway. I recently drove from Boston to DC (100% highway) and my gas mileage was about 26.

Here are some things I tried to improve the GM:
changed the air filter
made sure tires are all the same pressure
flushed tranny fluid
changed oil
drove less aggressively

Does anyone have some suggestions as to why my GM is low? Is 25 MPG normal?

I recently had an issue with a seized brake caliper that was dragging. my gas mileage improved when i fixed it. It's a long shot, but figured i would throw it out there.

If it's 100% highway, I wouldn't say that a normal mpg. Especially for 2.0 engine. I would say, clean out your MAF sensor and TB if that helps.

If not, you might wanna get a complete fuel system cleaner by the dealership. Overall, I heard that would increase your mpg by far.

I have a 30-40 minute ride to work every day. It is all highway. My speed average 70-85 mph and I average about 25-26mpg. I have an 05' 2.0 ATX. On longer trips I get better around 30ish. Ive noticed its not necessarily the speed, but the consistency of speed. I use my cruise as much as possible and it seems to help.

I'd say get your fuel injectors cleaned. It's like 80 bucks at a jiffy lube. Do that and add a bottle of gum-out to your gas for 1 tank. I noticed my mileage go up after I did this by about 2 mpg. My car only has 25k miles though, so yours might see a bigger improvement.

There is no need to goto the dealership or Jiffy Lube to clean your injectors. Buy a few bottles of Redline Si-1 off Amazon and you are good to go. Chevron Techron is good as well and can be found at retail outlets.

Lucas Oil Fuel Injector Cleaner is the best. Not only cleans injectors but also improves gas mileage just with what's in it. I try to use a bottle of that stuff in every tank, it's fantastic.

I have had the same exact problem and the fix was very simple. All i did was replace the spark plugs with the recommended plugs from autozone and it went right back up to normal wich was 100 miles per 1/4 tank

No it is not. Not by a longshot.

You need a Fuel System Cleaner that contains PEA (which Lucas does not). That leaves a very short list:

Redline SI-1 (as mentioned above)

Gumout Regane (in the clear bottle)

Chevron Techron (fuel SYSTEM cleaner......not the fuel injector cleaner)
