Loud clicking sound from front driver side

I don't know if this is the right place to be posting this ha, so sorry in advance.

Almost every time I reverse I hear a " click click click" sound coming from my front driver side wheel area. It happens sometimes when I start driving from a dead stop, or going from reverse to first after.

What could this be? Some people have said it could be a wheel bearing?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Loud clicking sound from driver side.

I have the same issue when starting from a stop or shifting to 2nd. It actually probably occurs all the time when shifting I just cant hear it. No solution as of yet. Long thread on other forum about it and nobody has come up with THE solution. Many theories and some have had it resolved but nothing definitive. I plan on taking mine in soon to have it looked at before my warranty is over.

Re: Loud clicking sound from driver side.

It could be a wheel bearing, but they tend to humm more then click. But clicking isn't unherd of from a bearing.  Could also be you cv shaft tho.  If ya can put the front tires in the air and spin the tires with your hands.  Feel for any resistance or spots where it hangs up a little.  It should spin smoothly through out the whole rotation.

Hey man, I just got done jacking the car up, and the wheel is spinning fine, no resistance ( I dont think).

Any other ideas what this could be? Could it be a problem with the axle?

Re: Loud clicking sound from front driver side

So nobody has any info on this? I was going to take my car in to the stealership this morning to have a few things checked out and this was on my list.

Basically it's a clicking when accelerating in forward or reverse. I might be trippin' but it sounds like it comes from both sides in front for me. It does not appear as if the clicking speed has anything to do with how fast the engine is revving or how fast the wheels are spinning.

I do not notice it at higher speeds just when coming from a stop...

Re: Loud clicking sound from front driver side

Please take it in and report back. Like I said, on the other forum (http://bit.ly/4xXFeT) there have been numerous (10-20+) people with this issue and no single fix it seems like. Report back your outcome. I only have 2,000 miles left on my warranty so I plan on getting my car in ASAP (or as soon as I make plans to do it and stop putting it off).

FYI, my clicking definitly seems to be getting worse. Its louder and seems to happen for longer.

No updates yet? This thread sounds like the same clicking issue I'm having.

Re: Loud clicking sound from front driver side

For some reason this started doing this to me, first gear usually and it was a few loud clicks, it really sounded like a clatter, it first happened when I left work tonight.

I searched around and found
http://www.finishlineperformance.com...3-05-1486b.pdf

I think this may be my fix?

Anyone else still having this problem?

Re: Loud clicking sound from front driver side

This is great. Thanks for the link as I have not yet tried to fix this. I did replace my drivers side axle shaft, the replacement part actually leaks a little, at least now I can go have my mechanic take a look.
